Massive Yahoo Data Breach

Share

If you’ve got a Yahoo account, the latest identity theft news isn’t good. Today, Yahoo confirmed that 500 million accounts were affected by a massive data breach. Further details are not available at this time, however, these types of online breaches are, unfortunately, not uncommon.

Any time there’s a breach of this magnitude, it’s a good time to remind everyone of the importance of a solid identity protection plan. While an identity protection service won’t help with the personal invasion of privacy if someone hacks your email account, at least you can feel safe that the hack won’t result in someone stealing your identity and running up thousands of dollars on your credit cards.
